Exit 16 off 84 Westbound on the western side of waterbury has a nice little deli right off the ramp, you can go to the bottom of the ramp, go straight across to the get on ramp its really wide and then walk into the deli they have good fried chicken and top notch sammiches, the coffee is good as well. you can be in and out in a hurry.

Hey guys, I just want to thank you for the trip down memory lane. Lots of great times running around those roads. Just a little advise, the Conn. state police have a lot of hiding spaces up there in those woods, just keep on the lookout. They can be real sneaky, one time they used an ice cream truck for the radar gun, 1/2 mile later there they were pullin you over. Not trying to make you paranoid, just a little cautious.

just a lil update been doing the cardinal gig for 3 weeks now. same run everyday. been avergaing 11.5 hours a day. somedays a lil longer if theres a accident on 95 in conneticut. they got me in a 2010 prostar with maxforce
trucks very clean and nice looking but only had it one week and its off to the dealer for egr work and other stuff. so ive been using a 2006 columbia with mecedes engine. trucks beat up but its a worker. driving that is fun compared to that dog maxxforce that doesnt shift right. theyve been been treating me good paying me delay time in .5 hour increiments. at 8 dollars. didnt expect any delay pay. theyre really hard up on safety. they make u take lots of online tests and stuff. 8 hour csa class next saturday but paid for the day. the run is leaving bridgewater nj at 215am going over the gwb into ny 95 thru ct into rhode island to exit 7 off 195 in providence. there at 615 unloaded by 7 then rt 6 to manchester then hartford and weathersfield.im bumping the dock and pulling back out within 10 minutes. loads are all under 20k. paid 537 miles its really only 494 at 41cpm. 40.00 for the 4 stops . money seems fair and they are very quick to get things taken care of. paid by comdata card for the first week then dd. comdata fuel card with fuel and go. no reciepts needed. just hope they get my truck running good. one thing i like is i dont have to check in or talk to anyone after my morning check in and my arrival at 1st customer check in. other then that quick text i dont deal with anyone. i know there highering out of my location driving prostar sleepers brand new delivering windows.

just wanted to revisit my post. still with cardinal, benefits kicked in.( i went with the really cheap benefits plan because im young and pretty healthy. 5 bux for med 3 for dental. my two 1000.00 sign on bonus were paid. things are going good. a few crappy days broken down. im doing the dedicated run still for office depots from bridgewater nj (2am) to providence ri (615am) to manchester, hartford, wethersfield ct(830-10) then back to bridgewater nj (12.30-1.30 avg) roughly 11 hours a day weekends off. get back drop empty get in my car and leave.dont talk to anyone unless theres an issue. paychecks have been from 1290-1400 a week. they pay for delays ontop of your normal pay. not sure how other cardinal gig/accounts are but im pretty happy. just wish i wasnt driving a prostar

What time do you have to be at the terminal and ready to work? Also, how much sleep do you get on average? thanks

Not half bad, man...glad it's going well for you. The NE would make me nuts, but I've never lived up there. Keep up the good work!!

your both wrong, cardinal is owned by a wall street firm, which merged greatwide,(a ####### company with Cardinal a smaller yet better company). btw....Cardinal started in 1980. I may jump ship from a teamster gig to run flatbed home delivery for Cardinal, but after reading about greatwide, I'm not so sure..........I've seen how one company can overpower a merger with the other company . And turn it into ####! yrc is a prime example, roadway owned everything, and it was all sold after the merger with yellow and leased back too yrc. Plus every employee gives 15% back until july 2015. 12 hour forced overtime....12 year old trucks, even older trailers...........and just a handful of properly displayed graphics.............I see the writing on the wall.

I would without a doubt go with the first gig. A lot of places are like that, you apply and they say they noting right now and then they call you the next day saying a driver got hurt or a DUI. but yea Cardinal sounds way better
