Which Steel Toe Boots Are Best For Driving?

In the truck I wear well worn Sperry boat shoes- next thing to barefoot. They stay in the truck so nobodies "pee pee" is stuck to them. Out of the truck I wear leather boots with zip up sides made in USA, I carry and take good care of my Greb Kodiak steel toes, and rubber knee high(-35F) boots for when I need them. No outside boots set down in my truck. I hate mud, diesel or what ever I walked thru in the truckstop getting in my truck Not on my side or the passengers! I'm not all that fussy about the inside of my truck but I do want clean floors.

Same thing with gloves. Never get out without them- always take them off before I touch anything in the truck.

 

My parents bought me a really nice pair of Timberlands... but they are expensive. I wear 'em all the time- even while driving. Took a few days to get used to them while driving -vs- Tennis shoes, but ya get used to it then its no big deal at all. Sundays heading out to stage up for Monday morning drop though I usually just wear my shoes....

 

Timberlands I don't really care for iv had mine less than a year and I already have holes starting to form in the leather my carolinas I think are better but that's just me though too eachbits own

 

Last version of my career had me working in development for a couple of military boot suppliers, for steel toe I"m currently using Wellco Navy Flight deck, (good enough for air craft carrier flight deck operations, good enough for me) Non steel some hikers I developed, but couldn't afford if I had to pay for them. Also for a good size zip composite toe boot look at Belleville Boot's 639ZCT, Another bit of my handiwork. They also have a steel Air Force Maintainer boot that's tough as nails and fairly comfortable. When I say fairly comfortable, you can wear them all day on a factory floor OK. All completely made in USA.

 

I have a set of converse composite toe bb issued to I like em a lot light weight and still protect my feet

 

My truck, my rules. Mocs from a trading post on I 10. Red Wing boots in places their needed. Cowboy style feels better for me. About $200.00 Your feet are something you don't want to abuse. Without them your crawling.

 

In Red Wing, I have always used a pull on Pecos boot. They just last forever. I even re-soled a pair of insulated Red Wing Pecos thru a Red Wing shop. I have an older pair that i now use strictly for outdoors dirty work, such as washing out the trailer, working on the truck. They get wet and greased up sometimes so a pressure wash them. Them boots are atleast 10 yrs old and don't show any signs of falling apart any time soon. Yet, I recently tried on a pair of Red Wing chukkas model 2156. Wow, you talk about comfort. I may just get them just to have them for around the house type nonsense wasting the day type stuff.

 

Danner comp toe. No reason for steel toe IMO anymore besides they are cheaper.

 

All I'm saying g for the illegal driving no shoes is before anyone can get to my door they can back on my feet in 5 seconds. I get nasty sweaty smelling feet if i keep any shoe or boot on for a 12-14 day.
