To Sum it All Up: Long story short.... I have finished. Swift makes their test more difficult than the DPS test so that you shouldn't have any problems passing. I start orientation on Tuesday. I'm ready to get on the road and learn what I really need to know to make this work for me as a career. The instructors were great! I learned alot. Now its time to put what I've learned into action.

BRocka, that was a riveting thread! I am trying to decide on whether to go to Swift in Lewiston ID or go to a local school 15 minutes from my house.

Let me just say that it's been an interesting year! I am no longer a company driver for Swift. They showed me their bad, bad, and ugly sides. No good anymore. I'm not gonna post it openly. But I will respond privately. Any questions, just ask. I still love driving, just wish I'd gone another route to do it. It's like a T. W. B and Freddie Mac situation towards drivers...in my opinion.

I am no longer with Swift.
I will still answer any questions as honestly as I can based on my 2+ years with them.

I will ask you to PLEASE make a new thread on why Swift didn't work out for you.

I talk to everyone every chance I get. the only "good" I hear from Swift drivers is from guys who think 22 cents a mile etc is "good."

What do they ACTUALLY pay? How many miles does a RELIABLE driver get? Why is thir reputation so bad? ( from your perspective.

Not asking you to be vindictive, but I, for one, was pushed HARD towards swift by an agency who PAID for my training, but I was told by EVERY person who knew the indusry to run FAR away from them. Surely there is SOME good to this company besides indentured-servant CDLs.
