I know the feeling....so far, I've only had 1 bad trailer,and that was last week, I was lucky enough to be close to Gboro to take it and get fixed, then roll! But, I did have a trailer, about 3-4 months ago, where the tandems WOULDN'T SLIDE AT ALL! I was left with 4 freaking hours of waiting on the repair guy...only to finally drop on the Chester yard for it to be fixed...NOW...here's a GOOD question....did it get fixed at Chester? Or, was it never even tagged to be fixed? I sent in a qualcomm message to Chester yard about said trailer....even went into the shop and told ALL the guys about it....they said just park it in "repair" spot and someone will tag it! So, I saw where the tags were and grabbed one, just to be sure, and filled it out myself....even IF we get some kind of thing going on for this issue, I DON'T wanna be the one NOT doing PTI's or leaving a messed up trailer for the "next guy". My only "venting" right now is my DM needs to #### OFF! haha WHY are they going off on me about doing a proper PTI on trailers, when I have breakdown calls on them? You WOULD THINK if I wasn't doing PTI's on trailers, I would be going down the road, then send in a breakdown, with MM's AND NOT CUSTOMERS ADDYS!!!!!! Sheesh, I took a trailer to the shop LAST WEEK! This "blame calling" crap is ridiculous! Just because I look young, haven't been driving but about 15 months DOESN'T MEAN I'm the one leaving crappy trailers! EVEN called and went the hell off today about it....just asked the simple question....."HAVE I LEFT ANY BAD TRAILERS?" the answer was "I don't know." BS you would know if it was me OR not.....look at my freaking loaded/unloaded calls! All I got was a blank! Pointing fingers at people ISN'T going to solve the issue....what will is if you DROPPED a trailer, IT WILL BE ON YOUR RECORD THAT YOUR THE LAST DRIVER TO HAVE "said" trailer! That's like me getting a bad trailer, like last week...and driving down the road cussing flying out for it!(had to use you as an example, because we all love ya! haha) When the DM's #### WELL KNOW who had that trailer last! OK...I'm off to eat dinner gotta 921 run from Boston(GO SOX! haha) out to Plainfield!

 

yeah i forgot this one when i was doing the last one......i did that at a loves last year.....we had a few weeks there where all i was getting for fuel stops were loves and every single one of them the men's was on the left.......walked in one tired after running all night and ready for bed around 8am one morning and walked right in and into the left door and never looked......thought it really strange it didn't look like the men's and even commented to myself odd there were no urinals on the wall but i was tired and didn't make the connection until a chick came out of the stall beside me as i was coming out of the one i had just been in lol

she failed to see the humor in it.......and immediately went and found the manager

thought i was going to jail over that one....but once i had a chance to talk to the manager she was cool about it. you can believe i look now every time lol

 

you should've told the manager...next time this happens...make sure there's a pretty woman to look at! haha

I don't leave bad trailers, always do a pti and have sucked up lost time for getting repairs. I agree with holding bonuses and getting shop folks involved. BUT I also think we should get paid for having to wait for the repairs to be completed. Mechanical crap breaks, tires wear out ect. It's all part of running a business and a company that makes over 120 million in profit can afford to pay us the pissing $10 hour wait pay for getting their equipment repaired. I think a lot of drivers pass the buck because they know they aren't going to get paid if they take the time to get it fixed.
Oh well, that's my two cents worth for what it's worth.
I can top all of your bad days today...I had a colonoscopy today. Yahoo! Lol

 

I can top that , I had to have my bladder scoped few years back. It's the same camera! But only one way to get to the bladder.

 

my Dad, now 66, had another one done about a year ago, joking around with him, I asked, "Did you tell them you wanted to be awake for the WHOLE THING?" lol....he laughed and said....well, you're almost 37...looks like you get to ask them in about 3 more years bud! haha

 

actually, that IS a good idea....since we're killing our "babysitter" by waiting on the repair guy...we should be somewhat compensated! But, who knows...I think POPS has a really good idea though....but we all know that there will be "lazy" drivers out there that DON'T wanna run and will send in a breakdown on a trailer, for literally nothing, just to get paid.

 

so....would it be a good idea to tell my DM they look like the new Pope? haha
