We only service large chain restaurants wich are pretty easy to find, not a lot mom & pop places like us foods. The atmosphere is pretty laid back at the Newnan Ga MBM where I work. Never seen anyone not make their 90 days unless they did something stupid.

    Radman Thanks this.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I figured they do major chains which is easy. Use to have to do a small town and mom and pop joints with a 48" and a sleeper so I'm use to the trucks. You guys are always hiring in my area. The ad says electric pallet jack and liftgate to unload in bold letters. Guess people want to just bump docks for less money. See nothing but liftgate trucks here wouldn't see a liftgate at us foods unless you've been there for 10+ yrs. Might have to apply.

Hey guys, I've been reading along with the thread until I had a question of my own - I am just about to enroll in a CDL training program that my technical school offers, and I have a little over a year of experience driving class 6 trucks (F650's with a GVWR of around 20,000lb) for a local company. I have been the inventory manager for a CFA for just under a year as well and unload the trucks 3 times a week, and always try to to pick the driver's brain to figure out more about the company (annoys the hell out of them I'm sure lol). I live about an hour away from the Newnan DC and was wondering two things: 1) Is the applying done solely online or can I drive to the DC and hand in an application in person so I can talk to someone

    2) How good of a shot do I have at getting a job with them given my experience?

Any replies, answers, suggestions would be welcome; I just want to be making some of that 60k a year ya'll are talking about and need to know how to get there

Are there any women doing food service delivery? Do these companies shy away from hiring women due to the physical nature of the job?

What's up with the Penske truck takover at MBM? I know penske does the maintenance and they lease the trucks to them. But I never see any MBM trucks anymore, just Penske tractors pulling MBM trailers.

Not sure, as it's always been Ryder. Now that McLane owns them, maybe, they're switching over.
