You are correct...my error. I would add that after spending this morning talking with my friend's son who is a CHP officer (after I read your correction) I seriously doubt that any enforcement will occur by CHP. He said that fellow officers have discussed it and the only way they would enforce the no idle laws is if the truck was parked in a restricted area (within 100 ft of homes or school) and then only if there is a complaint to the CHP. Of course, where I travel, no one in their right mind would shut their engine down in the winter...let alone during a storm. I know, as I said earlier, that the Truckee scales are just ignoring the regulation.

I'm not sure where you drew the conclusion that I have a "wimpy little lie down and get walked on attitude". I'll admit -- I'm not much for complaining, fussing, and the such because it really doesn't make me feel very good nor does it accomplish very much.
But it takes far less backbone to piss and moan about a situation than it does to put forth the effort to get yourself out of it and move on. So that's where I choose to put my energy.
If you're unhappy with your chosen career, Arigo, please feel free to adopt my wimpy little lie down and get walked on attitude and find yourself different and more personally suitable employment.

Hey im a trucker and i cant organize a file cabinet nor would I so what i drive a truck not an office.
But my logbook is highly technicaly correct when i pay attention to it.
Sometimes even the numbers add up to 24 but Im never surprised and shocked when they dont. -
I'm not talking about complaining and fussing. I'm talking about how truckers have the ability to take control of the issue to a certain extent. I came to the conclusion that you have a lay down and get walked on attitude because you equated yourself and truckers to being cogs in a wheel with no ability to change things.
I'm not even a trucker yet. I'll probably become one in the future though, and I won't run from it with my tail between my legs when I run into a situation I don't find acceptable. I'll do what takes the most courage and fight it. Will I alone change things? Most likely not, but I'd rather go down swinging. -
Let me see if i remember my history correctly. Teamsters wanted to get more freight and get out of the garbage business that they were in so they lobbied congress and went on strike to get trucking deregulated so they didn't have to buy a operating authority to haul freight they could just apply and get authority when and where they wanted with out having to buy out a company to get the rights to the freight lane. So once they got that they cut the rate so they could get more business and then the freight rates dropped like a rock. Now they cry because no one will support there crooked organized crime money making ways. And they wonder why no one likes a union trucking company. why should i pay a politician for my job. Well just a thought form one that was around and remembers dad making more money than he could ever dream about because he had an authority for west coast freight out of the local area and could make enough on one trip a month to take care of the family and his drivers were the same way till the strike deregulated trucking and then he lost his business to union freight haulers. So you might go back to the beginning of the business to start chunking comments about people crossing picket lines what did the union ever do to trucking that was good NOTHING they do what is good for the few not the industry.BostonTanker Thanks this.
