I saw a female driver in California with her kid in a child seat once. It can be done but I think trucking is stressful enough without having to tend to a toddler.

Guess you never saw a family of 5 Mom , Dad , son , daughter ( being home schooled ) and newborn , 2 BIG dogs , 1 lapdog and usually some sort of FURRY rodent in a cage pile out of a ( usually a leased to own ) tractor at a truckstop.

would rather see a kid in a car seat then having the kid riding on moms lap in the jumpseat
FLATBED Thanks this. -
Yeah, I've seen Mom/Dad/kids/dogs pile out of a truck. Not much of a life if you ask me. Besides the smell in that truck, what kind of life is that for kids to be raised in ?
Bigcountry8079 and FLATBED Thank this. -
Yes so very true not much of a life , but yet you get people ( on this site as well ) that defend that type of life for children.

I guess that is what happens when the family house gets foreclosed on. Everyone moves into dad's big rig.

Same here, my Dad tossed me and my brother into the sleeper and off he went. Usually just day trips though.
