My 710 does not charge up anymore. Replaced cable so it's not that. I think the connector on the unit is bad.
What do I need to do to get this fixed?

There are- operations along the US and Mexican boarder that may, may interfere with the GPS reception. It depends on what is going on and how it is aimed (configurered). Don't have anymore information then that as this came up one day among a group of hams. Just be aware of the possibility. Other then that, make sure the unit had the best line of sight possible and even then, the signal can be blocked by natural means.

Why would this unit rout any truck to an HOV lane, ever?

Also, I71 in OH speed limit is 65mph. The GPS shows 55. I have tried the "tell rand" message several times, but it never changes.

I will let them know about the HOV.. BTW,, the speed limits are only updated when the New Map set comes out, not on the software update. Thanks,Mark

Well I read a lot of post don't post much but come here every other days on the road or not, I am charter bus driver all over North America, I have a 710 that I love and I baby it YES I have squeezed the connector and went I am on the road I tied my cable so it doesn't move around never had a glitz with my unit work like a charm it's the out most BEST gps on the market by far I have a TomTom that I refer to poor excuse for gps I have a Megalland not a bad unit (love the connector) that RM should adapt, I also carry with me a small laptops for back up, install 2011 Microsoft Street and Trip also have install CoPilot which I have to say I like but not as much as my RM and folks I travel Newfoundland and Labrador (Rand the only gps with realiable info for this province) Street and Trips lack a lot in that province but again my Rand work great ok Mark here is my suggestions would Rand consider a software for a laptop and no doubt it has been suggest before also one more think Mark I purchase lifetime maps but in the last couple month my dock doesn't show the links or attachement for maps update unit updates attachement still on my dock which I update mostly every week, however in my profile the info for lifetime purchase maps is there so if you have time please reply mark or e-mail.

E-Mail me with your Name/Serial number. You may be on the latest set of Maps and the next Mapset has not been released to the public yet. For a Bus, the 7710/7720 would be more in your alley. The routing/restrictions are different for a truck versus a bus. Thanks, Mark

My main response to you was by your post, it appears that you think when you submit a Tell Rand message it should change immediately or soon. That's what I'm saying, is that it will take them a long time to make those changes. Mark has posted that Rand needs to check with numerous sources to confirm what you're reporting. Example, I've reported that the speed limit Rand has for the town of Ellinwood, KS is 65, when it really is 35. I've reported this several months ago.

Google Maps does not take into consideration any type of truck restriction. Even though a sign may not be posted a road may still have a restriction. I will submit the "routing" and see what restrictions may/may not be in place. BTW,,, what city/state? Thanks,Mark

Driving along I10 westbound through AZ and CA the unit was reporting 0 or 12 or 1 of 14 stuff like that (No GPS). I got my other unit out and it did the same thing. Both of these units were purchased in 2010. The one unit did start to pick up 5 or 6 satellites as we moved north on HWY 99 though.

I called Rand Mcnally. I gave them the serial number for this unit. They stated 1 year old. Ok, not so much out of date. I called the city for the truck route it was trying to route me out of and asked if this route for trucks has ever changed, They stated it has been like this for 10 years. Ok.... What is going on with this unit. I use google maps on my phone. It gives me more precise/direct gps than this expensive unit does except for the much needed, low bridges, truck route, etc. I wish Google would come out with a gps for truckers......
