Prime isn't bad, if you don't mind being slave labor forever. With other companies the training is far shorter. Hence, you can begin making money far sooner.

I am in the process if goung through central refrigerated and their training program. I shoumd head out with a trainer this week.
I first looked at prime but when I contacted a receuiter I was told they did not hire from my area. I also looked into swift and almost went with them until I applied to central aftee reading sone threads here on the forum.
I also tried to look into knight as well but couldnt reach anyone via the phone so I just gave up. I would encourage you to at least check out centals program as I have been very pleased thus far.
Best of luck to you in your research.

Any of the schools will get you your CDL. It is what happens next that makes the difference, your actual time on the road with the trainer. That is when you learn what this lifestyle is about. The trick is to get a good trainer or mentor. Nearly 9 years ago I went with Swift, got good training all the way through and I still work for them today. I found a good fit for what I needed and what they needed.
It all depends on what you are looking for out of a company, or just the training for that matter. Most companies that train will let you pay them back over a course of time. You work for them to repay the loan and get your experience at the same time. It's a win win, they get to use you for a period of time and you get your experience to take and sell yourself to other companies that want experienced drivers.
Whatever you decide good luck, and learn it the safe way...please. -
Where are you from?

Not sure what more I can tell you.. If you have any specific questions I'll be happy to try and answer them.
Yes, other companies' training periods may be "far shorter", but how much good is "making money far sooner" if you can't keep from scratching up another driver's trailer in the truck stop? As I recall, Prime's training pay was $600 a week, comparable to any other company out there.
