Lot of the rail yards are in ROUGH shape , also drop lots for the ports are usually 1 step above mud holes, delivery sites are not always in great shape.

So for many that are HAMMER down type operators its hard on their trucks. For those that know how to drive / handle bad situations and take a bit of time its not that bad , get truck dirty but not bending twisting it to death.

In Port of Tampa, we load a customer that's inside the port. We only drive less than one mile inside to go through the port scale and it's loaded with Amalie Oil going to Israel mostly and South America. Some Containers are 96,000 and the port roads are getting rough. Last month i heard the DOT was parked besides the port scale to see how much weight trucks are loaded? Whats funny is that i hear or read alot of comments about how hard it is and nobody talks about the thousands of nice looking Container rigs full of chrome oil leak free?

We haul exports to the port.Blanket permits 94,500 in VA and 90,000 in WV.Pretty heavy loads, twisting and turning on mountain two-lanes.Takes more maintenance, especially with older equipment. As with any other trucking, you have to stay on top of maintenance.Would never want to have an employee driver running the port loads after watching some of the larger companies drivers in the empty yards. All you can do is laugh, you can`t fix stupid.

Lots are pretty bad around this time but most of them keep them graded for the most part.

Thanks everyone, I thought there was something beyond our control that they were talking about. I think I will go ahead and see if I can make some money at it.
