Hello again fellow truckers. I'm sitting here in Lima, OH (been waiting since yesterday at 4:30PM) to get a load at Proctor & Gamble. I was given a p/u time between 1500 and 2300 today. Hoping to beat the snow coming in tonight. I'm hearing weather reports that I-70 is closed in some places on the way...so I'm anxious to get out of here and back on the road. On my way back to Olathe to do a T-call/swap there by tomorrow.
-
Do they do teams ? My wife and I are looking for a trucking company with automatics
-
Yes TransAm allows teams and all their trucks are automatic.
-
^I think they allow teams but only as L/O. The weekly payment for a team L/O is $800+ per week.
-
Have any of you had Ryan G. as a dispatcher?
-
We are. Our lease is 840 plus 75 for the apu. Most of the loads are solo, so they have to do special stuff to keep us rolling. We have had four straight weeks of better miles. Seems to be a different load planner.
-
Special stuff like swap to the company drivers with less than 200 miles left on the load. I went through a month of that, but it got better after all my swaps started to not make load time!
OldTruckerMan Thanks this. -
We drop loads at Olathe for local pickup or they continue on to Denver or Dallas. I like that because we can drop right away.
We hate swapping.
They have not asked us to swap in two weeks. Seems like some stuff is changing. I don't know for good or bad.
We have had 4 weeks of good miles.
We are finally picking up a light load in LA. Last load out of Tyson Olathe was 79900. It took me forever to get the tadems perfect.
BTW perfect weather in socal, better than all the snow we were in.

I dont know if they just dont have brains in the office or just dont listen. Sent my empty call this morning and said I wanted t be left alone for 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Post tripped just before 8am and they sent me load info for a load that is a live load at Paltech for 5pm, going to Cargill in Dodge City and I would get a load to the yard from there that would be ready Sunday at 5am. I said no to it because Im not in the mood to go to Paltech and Dodge City never has loads ready on time and I wouldnt be able to get my student back to the yard on Sunday because I know I would get stuck waiting at the meat house. Plus I have business to take care of on the yard Monday morni.ng. Mary calls to tell me that I really needed to take it because the Cargill load was going to deliver in Andover, MA on the 3rd and would give me 1800 miles. I said no it wouldnt because I have to be on the yard Monday morning and then be back again Wednesday to pick up another girl. So they void that and now Im heading to Schuyler, NE tonight picking up a load that will be Tcalled to the yard. Then they send me a custom short for a load to pick up at the Olathe yarc and deliver in Ohio at 11am Monday morning. Did they not understand me the first few times? Ugh. I swear these people are idiots. And I still havent slept more than an hour because ive been trying to reach Leasing all day. Im putting in for a day of hometime for after I drop off my next student. I havent seen my fiance or our boys in more than six weeks and I miss them. Gonna have my moment at home then keep on truckin.
kirk Thanks this.
