Make sure your company will allow if you're a company driver, and you need an inverter wired directly to a main battery cable with properly sized wire and connections (not into a 12 volt accessory port)

a small inverter thats plugs into 12v will work for a tv and play station. my 19 inch and my comp charger, my dvd player , my internet card charger , and printer uses only 125 volts all on at the same time, if all you ran was tv and playstion a 300 watt would do the trick. but for best performance and other use hard wire ya a 1500 watt to the batts with an inine fuse as close to the batts as possible

We're not allowed those kinds of inverters, does the one you use have 2 reg outlets?

You try and suck that many DC amperes continuously through the often relatively small wire that feeds some accessory ports, you're just asking for trouble. If you blow a fuse, whatever you do, don't replace the [correctly sized] factory fuse with a larger one or you're almost certainly going to see your stuff converted to ashes sooner or later.

As far as I know, no inverter will operate at over 150W when plugged in to a 12V socket.

A 19" TV uses about 160 watts. A game console uses about 100 watts.

Directly from Cobra concerning the CPI-450

It does come with alligator clips. So does the 800 watt model which I would buy. You could clip directly to the battery and set the inverter inside the door. Then get you a 12 foot extension cord from there. Not the prettiest but it works.

Some trucks you can pull the carpet back or from the outside peek at the bottom side of the floor and you will see a predrilled hole with a rubber grommet in it. You can cut an "X" in that grommet and run your alligator clip cable through it and set the inverter behind the seat. Then you will have a more of a permanent set up yet it would be easy to take down before you head to a terminal shop. Just get in the habit of unclipping from the batteries before you take off down the road.

i am looking at the volt readin on my inverter at the moment and have turned on all the above mentioned items, its at 160 watts.

its not drawing as much as one thinks in reality. if ya really worried use 2 small inverters different plugs in in sleeper and one in front, splr is on different fuse.

or get one of those like mentioned that hook to battery with clips.

I've never needed a big inverter or a battery connection to run a TV and dvd player or video game. Alway used a small inverter plugged into 12v plug. No problem in 20 years. Especially with a newer flat screen, led type tv. Very low draw compared to the old tube tv.
