I guess some members here are forgetting that there is more to trucking than OTR. Yes there are regulations, but welcome to every job out there.

And from a different perspective, I'm ecstatic how few rules there are in this industry. Every time I'm having a less than stellar day, I remind myself I could be doing what I used to. It cheers me right up.

I drop and hook mostly. Never wait more than 15 minutes for a preplan. I usually get in and out of L.A. with very little traffic disruption for my drop and hook schedules.
I get paid every two weeks and my settlement for the first two weeks of March was 6, 200 miles and my miles for the second half are a better than that. I was home on the 1st, 2nd, 9th, 10th, 14th & 15th of the first lalf of the month. When I say home every weekend I don't necessarily mean two full days. In addition, there are times when I'm able to stop at home during the middle of the week to visit with my honey, which is nice. -
Elogs are Big Brother! You guys are lazy and don't want to keep logs and next we'll hear, I was 1/2 hr from home after being on the road for 6 weeks and the Elog was attached to my engine computer so i had to take 36 off at the slime ball truckstop in Jessup MD LOL!!! Cheer on the Elogs! Next its speed limiters on all of you then speed limiters on cars then cameras in cars and trucks to make sure you dont read or talk or anything else when you drive. I love ROBOTS!!
Numb Thanks this. -

I never was prevented from getting home due to e logs. I would show up to shipper at least 10 hours prior so that I would have a fresh clock to go home. When I see a road is backed up I detour. I have never been stuck in traffic for more than an hour, since I would detour and get on the CB to tell other drivers how to get around and they just remain stuck there while I am already gone.
Thanks to this score system that tracks my performance I get large bonuses for being safe and efficient.
I get to see all of my friends that moved away when they went to college years ago. I even reunited with a friend that I haven't talked to in 12 years and now we talk daily and he picks me up from the terminal when I am in his city and go out to pick up hot women. The whole united states (and canada) feels like my home since I know my way around and have a lot of friends in different cities. I love trucking.theurge Thanks this. -
Trucking isn't too bad; read between the lines. Many truckers complaining on this forum have been driving for years or decades; if it's so bad, what's their excuse for still doing it. Just like the military, guys complaining and then re-enlisting.
arata954 and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
Think a lot of the grumblings and whining we see from drivers on here everyday amounts to little mote than venting. Clearing the mind then moving on. If one really hated trucking that much they would be doing something else.

Yes, don't go into truck driving unless this is as good as it gets for you.

No one a half hour away at this home of yours would drive a half hour to pick you up? Says more about you and less about e-logs...arata954 and Balakov100 Thank this.
