I worked for Knight Transportation just under a year. I had enough. There were no loads, spent most of my time sitting around at company yards. I was treated badly from the begining. Management did not seem to care about anything, at the expense of the driver. It is not a "truckers" trucking company. Does not want good drivers but wants "robots" and new-comers who do not know the difference. Management touts that working at Knight Transportation is a career but have no idea what they are talking about. And do not care. Management does not care about anything. And it does not care that it does not care.
Knight Transportation no good at all.

News flash -
Thee above post isn't a news flash. -
"Wow". 42 years driving? You went to Knight? I am at a loss.
Joetro Thanks this. -
What terminal did you run out of? I have been with Knight for 3+ years and I don't have any problems with managment. If you sat the terminal more than you ran miles, then you had a bad DM. Just curious as what made it a bad experience from the beginning as well.
-
It is not Knight Transportation is bad, it the people that drivers have contact with. DO NOT WORK out of Joliet, Illinois. These knight operation terminal office workers are very very bad.. my X DM was Mr. Sluter does the worst dispatch I ever experience, I ran 3 weeks with him average 1200 miles per week using only 38 hours out of my 70 hours in 8 days.
-
Your X DM wasn't keeping you productive, there for his productivity and miles are down because he did a bad job. How long has he been there? I would guess that he was/is a noob.

You need to read my posting. Knight's Transportation not living the dream. They don't care about their drivers and after they ignor them they will let you rot in their trucks. Ontheedge7

Here's some sound advice bro. Sounds like your done by what you posted.
Just quit and move on. Lots of other otr companies out there.
Good luck. -
Most of the old trucking companies have been bought out by bigger ones or have down scaled to fewer trucks. Its getting to the point that in the future the trucking industry will be managed by 3 or 4 mega companies, but all run the same way.
Independent trucks cant keep up with the price of fuel, permits and expenses.
One of the main problems with knight is I could never find a empty trailer. I only had one key and there are three different locks on the trailes. On top of that it even locks empty trailers making it difficult to find empty trailers. WHO NEEDS THE BS?? I just need an empty trailer. Call dispatch, they dont care. All I need is an empty trailer. Do not call dispatch. Who cares. You will sit until someone finds an empty trailer. But guess what? No one cares if you find an empty trailer. I had enough. Good luck.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 31, 2013
