DD 14L
I am strongly considering a 2007 Century with a DD 14L thatis advertised at 435 HP. I have 3 questions
1 how hard is it to turn this up to 500 HP?
2 about how much this would cost me?
3 will do so put at risk the rest of the drivetrain?
i am not looking for 0-60 speeds here just want to be ableto pull the OH,MO,VA hills at 50 mph or better.

Hey, the 14L is 455/515 already. You could talk to other people on this forum and find someone who can turn it up for you. good luck

any dealer can reset the hp setting along with all the other ecm parameters to whatever you want them to.
I made it a condition of sale when I bought my truck last summer.
In Dec 2012, I had Rebel127 recurve the fuel and timing on the engine. It did wonders. I now have 550 hp and 2060 torque. -
More speed/power.....more fuel consumption. With my trks electronics , my mpg is 11 to 12 at 55mph. At 70 mph i get 3.8 to 4.2 miles per gallon. Are you sure you need this.

I am thinking the feds and a couple engine manufacturers would want to talk with you if you are getting 11-12 mpg with your truck.

Yeah 11 - 12 bobtail on a constant downhill run with the wind at your back
-
drop 15 mph and triple your fuel mileage who knew lol
MNdriver and WitchingHour Thank this. -
If you reverse far enough your tanks start overflowing.

That's about the worst engine you could buy. Countless EGR and turbo issues and really poor MPG. Not that CAT or Cummins were any better though.

If you're only getting 3.8 to 4.2 at 70 in a five axle and not pulling some kind of abnormal load, your truck just plain sucks, and you should get rid of it.
