I think so, the tanker driver I talked to told me he was home every other night and weekends.

 

Could check the craigslist for the area, mifco has tankers in Manassas, fuel farm is at 234 and I66 and another in Fairfax.

 

I drive for WSE (Willis Shaw) for eight months and had over 30 companies call me after I had quite. The problem is WSE only has automatic so you have to learn stick all over again. You might want to take a refresher course after you quite to get good at a stick again. You really don't need to stay with your first company that long. A Lot of companies only want 3-6 months experience. I grew up in Northern Va also in Vienna. Good luck man.

 

the coal haulers in wv and ky are getting out as fast as they can. Paynes a good outfit but they take a lot of brokered loads. they get a lot of loads off R and J trucking. I hauled end dumps for 7 years and I will tell you to make money in end dumps be prepared to haul overweight run double and triple logs and run a lot of backroads to dodge scales and the roving dot man

 

I will say this though you can make money hauling end dumps Don't want to scare you away but its hard work and at times it can be real slow and other times you are balls to the wall. right now they are real slow. When I hauled end dumps I never made under 50k and the last 3 years I pulled dumps I made over 75k. I went and bought a truck and am pulling tanker now but I do talk to a lot of my connections in end dumps and if their work picks back up I might go back to it but I have my doubts that its going to come back at least as long as with the current political environment and the current epa policies
