Which one is on the tractor.
APU typically a generator that is self powered by a small diesel engine. Unlimited power as long as there is fuel.
EPU electronic type with storage batteries that are charged by the tractors electrical system. Limited power unless recharged by the tractor electrical system.
Which one do you prefer?
Maverick..APUs or EPUs

We have EPU's with inventors. I've never driven a truck with an APU so I can't comment on which is better. I know that our EPU's are great provided everything is functional. Sure beats idling.
Hammerin' Hank Thanks this. -
Does maverick allow you to put a inverter in the truck, if so any restrictions? Also are you aloud to to have satellite TV set up in the truck? I have an apu on the truck I drive, i love it but hate my company and been really leaning into joining maverick

No modifications to a Maverick truck. You can have them install a TV satellite setup though I believe. Our trucks are already equipped with EPU's and Inverters. All the comforts you can want.

Sweet, thanks jxu. How are the EPUs, how long they last? Heard 15hrs. But let's say I'm waiting on a load and I'm watching tv, would that eat up the battery's and last a lot less? Anyways only want it for Sunday football when im sitting and maybe an hour or 2 on my 10hr break

They aren't gonna run out on you unless you intentionally make them run out on ya. Like running everything in your truck (TV, radio in dash, gps, microwave, heating pad, hair curler, all the interior lights, phone charger, karaoke machine, ect, ect) ALL at once for a long period of time. Just be smart, conserve their energy, and you won't have any problems until the batteries have lived their complete life- then just take to the shop and get your new ones. I never sit in one place for 15 hours-although it may seem like it to me sometimes, but I have heard something like that before. If you get stuck-out for a 34 somewhere, just be smart with your power. You would be fine.
Lux Prometheus and Hammerin' Hank Thank this. -
Haha hair curler and karaoke machine! Oh I know man just was wondering if tv or ps3 would kill it faster. And I only run 1 thing at a time, even with an apu. Also I don't plan on sitting more then 10hrs unless I have to -
I did not want our fantastic female Mavericks or any aspiring singers to feel left out of my comment, they have their stuff in their trucks too that they may be wondering about after all....

I have a 24 inch LCD TV, a GPS, dash camera, phone charger, iPad charger, satellite radio, blue ray player, and coleman cooler, all of which are running when I'm stopped. I never bother turning stuff off when I go to bed lol.
My EPU will last roughly 11 - 12 hours like that. It'll drop way down to about 6 hours if I have my laptop plugged in and I'm using it, because its a high end gaming one and it sucks power. But overall it's pretty impressive for running on only batteries.
