From Schneider with 520,000 miles on dashboard, not a good idea. Go online and check out companies that do like a pay so much down purchase, TRUCKSFORYOU.com is a starter for ya. GOOD LUCK my friend.

I bought mine in October 2012 with 591,000 miles, now 626400. Went to Schneider in Atlanta Georgia and there were alot of junks! Look at the last one and it was like looking at me and i did my check and everything seem to be fine and work! I bought mine for $22,000 after negotiating with the salesman in Green Bay WI. So far, all i had to replace was cheap recap tires and shocks from schnider, two front king pins, water pump last week because it started to leak small drops of coolant through the peep hole and i could've use it like that but i dont like to ignore small leaks and thats all. Runs strong. Got a Detroit Series 60 12.7 L. 2006 Dont go with Auto shift. I got 10 speed. The only thing i can tell you is that when you look at these tractors, it's a pick and hit. I got a hit and have at least $10.000 for maintenance to start. When talking final price with Schneider, go down at least $4,000. They are not in the business of selling trucks, they are just replacing their old fleet with new ones and they need the space where the old trucks are. If you want financing outside of Schneider, you can contact J Giese CFF. on my friends list. Look at my profile picture. That tractor pulls 96,000 pound port containers with no problem.buddyvuk, 123456 and russellkanning Thank this.

96,000 port container ? Gross that maybe but how far do you pull those overweight containers ?
As far as used tractors goes Ryder has a better selection of better maintained trucks .buddyvuk Thanks this. -
As long as you check out the truck, there is no reason you can't find a decent truck with Schneider. I would ask for maintenance records and have both a dyno and oil analysis done, once you find the truck you want to buy.

I've heard Schneider trucks don't even have an dump valve for air bags . You can find some nice Ryder trucks that are lease returns from private fleets . Some of them are loaded with options . A company I worked for once got a truck that had been leased by Michelin to test tires . That was one fast truck .buddyvuk Thanks this.

Inside the port of tampa, we have a customer, Amalie Oil that ships Oil mostly to Israel and South America. Yes, i have to get a weight ticket in the port scale and it's less than two miles from Amalie to the Container lift! But yes, the port roads are looking rough and not only us, those heavy fuel tankers as well.

you are absolutly right! my tractor does not have a dump air valve and makes it harder to hook a trailer on certain height. I will install at the dealer an air dump valve and a trailer hand valve in the future. He can see other options too. I like the unit i found but again, there were alot of junks. Another thing that i dint like was that the shop manager tells you that you cant drive it outside the shop perimeter, you can start it and check everything else. I dont think they'll waste time with dyno test, and buying is as is! Another thing i dont like is that Schneider takes out all the good tires and shock and every tractor on sale, they'll put the bad ones and keep the good ones for future parts. Hey thats business. Now he might be better off in Ryder? or even Penske. The important thing is that you find the right truck and not a lemon.buddyvuk Thanks this.

I tried to buy from Schneider in Fontana. They wouldn't let me take the truck off their property for a dyno/mechanical inspection. I won't buy a truck I can't dyno, so no Schneider truck. I also thought the prices were way too high, higher than what the same trucks were being sold for by dealers at the time. I ended up flying to Kentuck for the truck I eventually bought.
buddyvuk Thanks this.
