Super singles are good tires for certain applications , I haul close to gross most days and they do well , not too great in the snow but otherwise hold their own. Driving with a flat either way super single or dual will get you a nice 6 point merit with CSA , but getting a truck off the road a safe distance if possible is fine . The problem is when we all see someone running with a flat who knows its flat and keeps driving as if nothing happened even after they have been told . Last week came across such a fella who had every opportunity to get onto the shoulder ,but kept going and only stopped when a jeep pulled him over for breaking their windshield. Extremely poor judgement! What if a motorcyclist where there? COuld have been fatal. No schedule is that important . Its bad enough seeing a tractor pulling a can down the boulevard with no fender on an old volvo . I seriously wonder sometimes what some of these guys are thinking .

True, but the nearest "safe" place may be just the shoulder area. You are not the one who, in the final analysis, will be the authority to determine what is the most appropriate "safe" place. One anecdotal situation does not a definitive DOT understanding of the regulation make. One Evil Knievel aside. So, if you choose to run 6 more miles down the road with that tire throwing chunks to get to what YOU determine is a safe place, then you had better hope that the LEO who sees you doing it also came from the same gene pool and academic background as you did. Otherwise, you are going to be stopped, cited, and still have to call that road service. You are out even more than if you just pulled over to the shoulder and set out the triangles and called for a tire service call. And a data q on the CSA points you get will not help. Good luck.

No CSA points unless they do an inspection

That all depends on your axle weight. if you are light you can run it legal with a tire missing.
