Well Friday I faxed my application in to Prime. Hope it goes well, trying to get back into trucking after being away from it for almost 20 years. I have been reading a lot of post on here and Prime sounds like the way to go for me. I am 53 years old and a female, I drove for a few years back in the 90's so its going to be interesting for me, but I'm hoping that it will be a good learning experience I'm just worried that it will be a long wait for a trainer since I'm a girl.

Just because you're a female why would it be a long wait?Unless you requested a female trainer.Otherwise you probably won't have to wait any longer then anybody else does.

It is my understanding that they send women out with women and men with men. I don't really care as long as they are competent and can teach me the right way.so has that rule changed then? Or did I just misunderstand.

Sorry kevin I can't reply to your pm. But yes I will have to go through there training program and I'm actually looking forward to that, pretty much when I drove I got thrown into a truck and was told to make the load ontime.so I know I have a lot of things that I probably could learn to do ether the right way or a better way .

I have seen a Wil-trans (http://www.bestdrive4wiltrans.com/) male driver with a female trainee. They are an outside carrier that hires without experience and pulls only Prime trailers. I didn't ask / don't know if they were in some sort of relationship.
