I've had them on all my tractor's and trailer's since they were an option. Only had one tractor that had the steer rotors wear bad(in the first 10k miles replaced under warranty) and one that the brake cans were installed with the drain holes facing up.(warranty again) Trade the tractors between 450-500K and the pads are at 50-60% and the rotors are smooth. A few trailers have got a new set of pads only.

Thanks for the info. Are you strictly over the road? And do you run many miles in the northeast, or the northern winter climates?

i think the idea of disks sounds good iv never had a truck with disks but i know i run a lot of un paved un plowed basicly un maintained roads, with drums you will get rocks stuck in between your shoes and drums that gouge them, then in the winter time braking trail all day threw snow your drums pack with completely full of snow to the point that you basically have no breaks. and are beating your breaks every morning with a hammer, im not sure if the same problem would exist with rocks with the drums but seems snow and winter annoyances of drum breaks would be gone with disks, on small auto's disk breaks are a vast improvement over drums seems the same could probably be said on a big truck, but then again i have no experience with disks on a semi.

Running in the north land is hard on equipment. Basically all I've done is avg 100,000 miles a year in northern Maine or New Brunswick Canada.

Very seldom do i set my trailer brakes, especially in winter. #### things freeze to the drum so easy( I got 15 farms a day I stop at). But at night the unit goes in my garage. That garage has been the best investment I've done.

Looks like a good investment going forward Cow. My experience was in a fleet where cost is everything but I would run them. A lot depends on the upcharge when you buy and repair costs. If you ended up needing a hub to go with the rotor it would probably hurt the wallet. ( Dodge and Ford like that )

Let us know what you do......

I really wanted air disc on my 2013 glider when I ordered it last year. They weren't available as an option from the plant on the make and model I ordered. Maybe next time.

i never set my trailer breaks and still get frozen drums all the time, running threw fresh un plowed snow all day your breaks will literately pack totally full of snow, and if you have any warmth in them at all when you stop the truck your breaks can never pop all night and still have frozen breaks come morning.

Dug up the old warranty from the truck that had everything replaced. Total was 905.86 for one axle, parts were 595.22. More expensive than drum brakes but overall last about twice as long.
