I'm starting to get pretty pissed at my self. I cannot get my backing down. I know what I need to do but I can never get my trailer in the right setup position. I just spent 15 mins just backing into a waiting position. Holy crap. People give me the platitudes but it isn't getting any better. I'm literally about to walk away from it. Man I'm pissed. And I just got a NJ run with backing off the street. Face/palm

They are giving you a challenge. Face it and overcome it...Don't get mad just slow down and think about what your doing. You won't get it in there on the first try and you will have days where your perfect. Take a deep breath and stay calm

Cory I'll shoot the Addy to you via PM. Tell me what you think for a newb with a week and three days experience.

Don't give up.
Had right at 2000 miles last week and got home on Thursday evening. Enjoyed a 3 day weekend and started out this week with an early morning delivery in Loudon, TN. Left out of CHA around 0500. Then got a load from Loudon to Davenport, IA. Will deliver there in the morning. That is followed up with a pick up in Pekin, IL headed to Dallas TX. By the time I get home on Friday I should be at around 2400 miles. Loving the longer hauls I've been seeing lately.Drifter42 Thanks this. -

Ok I sat and thought about it, I've kicked in doors, skydived professionally, worked as a paratrooper, and I scuba down below 90-100' pretty regularly, so I just said screw it. Die on your feet or knees eh? Called the consignee and they told me to come on, they had a place for me to stay. I was able to manage my time and the big guy upstairs cleared the roads so I got there with half an hour to spare. Man, Jersey is tight! They put me down on this pit area. I backed in and could not straighten out the rig, it was that tight. Getting in was tight and forebode of the morning when I wanted to leave, cue the sinister music!
They woke me up around 0500 my time and got me done by 0530. Now it was time to get out. The tow motor driver told me that I had to back into a hole like did for the unloading, only it was about 20' deeper and allowed me to swing my nose and get me pointed in the right direction. I slide the tandems forward to maximize my turn radius..... Nope not enough. I screwed with it being ultra careful not to leave any paint or drag anything off. I finally had to slide the tandems back plug them into the hole and pivot my snout up as close as possible to the wall.. Then walk my tandems forward. It worked. I got enough space that I was able to get out with room to spare. Whew.
Then I drove like a boss! The NJ people are so nice! When I put my signal on and got a little squirrelly in my lane, they just slowed right down and let me change lanes. That was super nice of them! I guess they are used to the NJ truck drivers just running over them. I was lucky, the 7lb12oz baby Jesus was looking over me. When I needed to move over, to like avoid going into NYC, that lane was empty! I really didn't want to drive to NYC in an 18wheeler. Wow! Got a load headed to Cookeville and I'll have maybe 2100 miles this week!
I'm tired! Slept like crap thinking about getting out, ya I'm a worrier.

Yes...but you did it. You put a W on the score card. Great job buddy. Proud of you. Looks like I am going to get home Friday with about 2900 miles for the week. Deliver and pick up Dallas tomorrow then high tail it for Atlanta.

Hey Mike , I guess your the only one with a fleet manager that understands miles equals money. These 1800 mile weeks are tough to make it on when your starting at the bottom, hope your doing good. Look for ya at fulton when im in and out of there.
