I've never been a company driver. 2012 was my 6th year as a Motor Carrier For Hire and each year I seem to be able to cull the broker herd a little more and have been lucky enough to find some fairly good brokers that are moving time sensitive oversize freight and it pays well. Not for everyone, but a niche in time saves nine. -
12-18 months as an company driver thnn jumping to o/o is a risk
-
as a matter of fact, 20yrs as a company driver is a risk to go O/O, that would be 20yrs of a mentality he would have to completely changeFiddle Sticks Thanks this. -

To be fair and honest, a company driver makes more than me. The advantage i got is i can take time off whenever i want.

Touched my old heart. No Son, being an O/O is a real bad idea, if your in it for money. I just like drivin' & choosing where I go. I do it for love. I make about 2000.00 a week take in the house money. In MY truck, or in the house, I'm still home
