It's a hard, but rewarding life. It's what You make it. I get paid to see America, Can't gripe about that.

That is indeed nice. If I never drove a truck how would I know where a place like Joplin MO or Bakersfield CA is? Also I can't think of another job where you can take a 2 hour nap during your shift and not get fired.

REAL statistics do show that college grads DO make more on AVERAGE. Statistics is far from the whole story and was never meant to be. Many don't go to college because they are too lazy to do so and are too lazy to apply themselves to any job they may have. Many still cannot afford college. And some realize that college would get in the way of their plans for life. Pursue what you want in your life and the chances are far greater you will achieve your goals than if you don't do anything about it. You will be better prepared for the lucky break when it comes along.

kaf, we get that you are very good at seeing the worst of everything but since most of the responses to your thread have been very positive, do you think the problem isn't so much with trucking but more with yourself?

    AchioteCoyote and lasherman Thank this.

Did you have to go OTR before this job or did you land it right off the bat?

    Thanks

I love reading about people happy with their trucking careers. So follow their lead if you can. I tended to be too loyal to companies who didn't deserve it and trying to do my part in getting them to make positive changes. But sometimes you have to walk past the manure pile to get to the garden.

How true, sadly we've become a society of leftist pinky crybabies.
