Just had a question for those working any dedicated accounts that claim daily home time
I have researched here and couldn't find a clear answer
since I live about an hour and a half from the terminal in Dallas I was wondering if the schedule they work requires you to only have a ten hour break on a daily basis?

In other words do they expect you back in the truck after a ten hour break on a daily basis or will there be some days
where you will have a bit more time off?

    thanks for any info

When I went through orientation as a re-hire in Oct. 2009 there was a guy in my class that was going to be running a daycab out of the railyard in Syracuse, and he was going to be doing a 12 on-12 off type schedule, then be off on Sundays and Mondays....

I've talked to a handful of drivers regarding dedicated accounts and what it comes down to is the account. Some dedicated runs are short and will get you home every night and others are longer routes which require you to stay out 1 or 2 nights a week. One guy told me that if you're given a day cab you'll be home every night unless you have a delay or breakdown and run out of hours. In that case he said Schneider would more than likely put you up in a motel for the night.

Thanks for the responses . I wouldn't have a problem staying out some nights its not a big deal to me. My only problem would be if there was a short turnaround on a daily basis due to travel time back and forth to the terminal. I have been playing phone tag with their recruiter so hopefully I will be able to ask him about it soon although I trust current drivers more than I would a recruiter. :)

Depends on the account and how it runs. As was mentioned above , number of stops and distance per run factors in as well. Biggest thing that will determine time between is the time you return to "base" and when the next run needs to leave to meet on time appt.

It would help if we knew what account you were looking at?

I run JC Penney. Another regular on this forum runs a Masonite door account, like interior/exterior doors.

SNI does Walmart in certain areas, family dollar( I think) Some flat bed home depot, International Paper( runs more as an OTR throughout the week). we do Honda here in ohio. Poly One.

Well turns out they want drivers to live within 35 miles of the terminal for home daily jobs and I live about 70 miles away. They offered a home weekly job but think Ill stay where Im at, got a nice truck that's a runner with an APU that seems to be working good and a large inverter so I get to have all the comforts of home. Thanks for the responses.
