Wow....paid plus 10%....guess it's better to err on the side of caution when trip planning. I know I always have.
But OOR is different then trip planning.
Truth is I don't think anyone in Green Bay knows the answer to the question...

Either way, OOR screwed me out of my bonus this Quarter. First quarter since being with the company I won't get my bonus, I am not happy about it.

When a company claims to pay you by the mile, but then uses a system which purposely and systematically pays you for less miles, it is reasonable to assume a basic level of dishonesty on the part of the employer. Trust is violated by the trucking company from the beginning. Personally, I would have no problem getting paid the same amount of money (less pay per mile but paid for honest miles). My point is, the industry has created this adversarial relationship with the driver. Schneider is an otherwise honest company, but how much can you ever trust someone when you can observe a dishonest pay system on a daily basis.

I thought policy was to scale over 30k? If I can see the load distribution I won't scale under 35k. That's an experience thing though. If I were new, I'd scale everything over 30k for sure until I got a feel. If I were between 25-30k, I'd just put the tandems around 6-8 and call it good if there were a reasonable number of pallets on the B/L.

If I can't see the load distribution, I scale it. I never trust the weight on the BOL. I'm driving an old truck with less than full power so every load feels heavy. Haha

I don't have TV, Computer, DVD, etc. either. I must carry more food than you do though, cause I need both the ice chest and plug-in cooler. Also, I'm cheap. I refuse to buy ice and I don't always end up driving through an OC often enough to keep the ice topped off. I think it is reasonable to expect enough power to keep my food from spoiling and to have light for some reading at the end of my day. I need to be able to idle my truck for 60-90 minutes to recharge the batteries on the occasions I am down for an extended period of time. In the past I have been able to keep the idle low enough to still obtain my bonus, but with idling disabled, my comfort level with SNI has been drastically reduced. Comfort has never been a priority for SNI and I think this may be the final straw for a lot of people. It's a shame. Put Lofgren in a truck as a solo driver and I am convinced driver comfort would be drastically improved, assuming he has conscience... which hasn't been proven yet.

I agree. We have all of this technology that can tell you to the tenth of a mile how far something is. They are still paying y'all zip code to zip code. That;s alright, That's ok. I did my time with orange. Now I'm home at the end of every shift. Still I'm getting over 600 miles a day. I would rather listen to the other drivers than be the one talking. Everybody has different levels of being screwed before the light reaches the inside of
the eyeballs.

Hey guys, whats your experience with SiriusXm, antennaes and reception( including placement on your truck)?
Have recently gotten a radio and I'm having some reception issues depending on which direction I happen to be heading.
At present I am using the button antennae that came with it. Stuck it on top of the pass mirror.
Just wondering what you've doen and what success you've had. -
That's normal for sat radio. The signal is beamed from space rock cliffs affect it trees affect going in tunnel's going under brides etc. I always seem to have better luck on drivers side.
