TA in mt. vernon mo

    just wanted to throw this out there, but the ta in mt vernon mo is the best truck stop i have ever stayed at. plenty of parking, good food, but the people at the fuel island as well as in the stores and restaurants were the nicest ever. was really having a bad day the first time i stopped there, and their attitudes reaaly lifted me up. just nice to meet some good people now n then

    oh yea fuel truck, wash windshield and mirrors...great place, im from south alabama, so i was completely blown away by this....

    Don't know about the great food, but there is plenty of parking, and a quarter op-ed truck wash on-site. Being an OCD freak, that mattered most.

    There's plenty of parking because it's not a well strategically placed truck stop to me. Every time I passed it I had plenty of drive time left. I guess if you are picking up in the caves or delivering in Springfield it's a good stop. I traveled 71 more than that stretch and would stop at the Joplin J. Anytime coming to or from St Louis I stopped at the Pacific Pilot.

    Its an older stop so it might have been in a more strategic position in the past, especially in the pre 44 days.

    i was always hauling oversize loads from south al when i cane through there, so on my second day, right before dark, it was perfect
