Wonder how many here have actually read their states seatbelt laws
-
Actually, it is an automatic out. DOD policy = zero tolerance. I am currently active duty and have seen several friends go this way. Yes they do treat you, but then they show you the door.

I haven't, I'm just a good little sheeple and when my car peeps at me I put my seatbelt on.
-
here's Minnesota's law.

Just one of the many "exemptions" listed in it.
I love it when I get yelled at in a yard for not having my seatbelt on. -
Iowa has almost the exact same wording in their seat belt law.
-
Company policy can be more strict than regulations.
-
It has been law that commercial drivers have had to wear seat belts before there was even an FMCSA. Long before the states started passing laws concerning them.

I came so close to being terminated for a seat belt ticket..felt like I got a paper cut and it killed me! Lost my safety bonus, for quarter,
and got hit with one strike out of 3, in a 36 month rolling period. Am considering trying to plead UP in front of the judge. Is it important to
trade this (only a $25 citation), for something also non-moving, in order to keep this safety issue off my record? I'll pay $250 or so, (littering, tail light out) rather than have safety conviction....am I crazy? Also had inspection at same time, but all he got me for, was the seat belt. Inspection alerted my company, and got them all ready to can me. Only saved by my history and my supervisor who has power.
