@radman what do you mean cases to unload? And all the old timers at my terminal want the layover runs

@squonk I've been doing our really small satellites. Portland ME has 18 doors, Littleton, NH has 6 and its getting shut down... I did Plattsburgh, NY today, 516 miles round trip. In the middle of no where and only 4 doors. Our longest turn and hardest is Burlington, VT. It's a 530 mile round trip, with a 100 miles of a 2 lane highway (each way) and 50 miles of back roads to get to it. Nobody likes it. Bucky did it though and loved it, he might even get that bid

Alot of our senior guys choose to run on the extra board & I'm starting to understand why. I also seem to prefer the variety. I put together 2 sets today & enjoyed it. lol (of coarse, the super nice weather did help). Not sure I would like running the same route day in day out. Variety is the 'spice of life' they say. :)

@Squonk I here you. I was getting suck of always doing 135. Now they are sending me else where. On our boards we can choose to do the same run or just a long turn only, sub turn or layover. I like doing the sub turn the best. Usually where I make my money, average the same as long turn but get more hook time. Hence why I like the rail yards.

@radman I realized after I wrote it lol. I was just overtired at the time. Yea I wish u had that 7am sub turn sun-thurs but its whatever I'll live. Next bidding ill try.

well I'm going out for a bit. First Friday off in forever.

Sure didn't. I moved up 2 on the list though and have been getting all the miles I can legally handle. Been kind of brutal.

On the other hand, the main reason most the senior guys don't like the 'extra-board' is too much work. I think everything kind of works out, cuz, now that I'm a 'Noob', I really enjoy the job & like running hard. Over the years, if I get burned out a little, I can fetch me a bid run. Life is good.
ACH, I'll say it again, I wish I had started when I was your age. You'll have it made dude. I know there is no way I could have done this when I was your age, I was too wild. Hang in there dude, you can do it. lol
Also, there is a chance everything is really gonna work out nicely for me with this coo coming up. ^5 Glad I listened to everybody & didn't transfer to 241 just because they run a wheel. Boy would I have ever been screwed. Look what happened to them?

Well Squonk not gonna lie it is tough being young, wild all the time. Last year I would never of done this job. But a lot changed in 6 months. All my friends are moving away, returning to school, getting married or having kids. I did move away but not too fAr, don't wanna go to school unless its like a trade school but its dumb hard to get into. I'm deff not ready for marriage, and no where near ready for kids.

what I normally do on my time off is get all my wildness out of my system. Then I put my mature adult hat back on for work week. Being a responsible adult is deff not my forte.

still don't get the wheel and hog board. I just texted skinny off of hear to get it explained lol. I know you tried telling me but I'm slow and have the attention span of a gold fish.

well had too much fun last night, even made up with the woman so now she's happy again. going out with the boys tonight for my friends fathers b-day. He wants to hang with us for a night so it will be fun

Well, for comparison, we don't have a single driver here under 30. You are definitely the exception to the rule. If you can stick it out, it will pay you back in spades for many years.

I am the youngest driver we have. We have guys on the dock who are younger than me though. My landlords son works on the dock and he's a year younger. He told me he wants to drive one day just not ready yet. Me however I always liked the road. I might do a switching bid one year to give myself a break from the road

ACH, I'm with Squonk. I wish I would have gone into ltl at your age. All those wasted years I spent in the military trying to be something I wasn't and then all the partying I did once i got out. Working all those jobs and not staying at one of them. Come to think of it, I was a big time screw up till I hit 35. Had fun at the time but definitely wasn't worth it! During and after the Navy, alcohol became my first love. Sure was glad when I ended that relationship lol! Glad you went into line haul, keep on truckin!
