He probably has to go through a bunch of baloney to get the computer to move the trailers and pay you for moveing them best to ask him why the computer works that way and not start an argument .
Is my dispatcher in the wrong, or was I?

This is the important line that it looks like everyone missed. The dispatcher gets paid by the drivers loaded miles. The dispatcher is trying to work the system to make extra money.RockinChair Thanks this.

That is my view. The trip was pretty long.

Dispatchers who never drove should'nt dispatch. Like the ol; days when the president of a company worked his way up from the loading docks. Obviously, he knew the biz. Dispatch is lower management and need middle management to groom them.
When it comes to a pissing match, we all either comply (the easy way around such people) or for some unknown reason butt heads. The path you took , took you into the dispatchers world. You lose.RockinChair Thanks this. -
If you had had an accident, I bet that dispatcher would lie big time, so the driver will get the blame, and not the dispatcher. The driver was right to cover himself.
rodeo trucker Thanks this. -
Or the dispatcher COULDNT enter the trailer into the computer as an empty trailer, because he is Freaking incompentent...which is the most likely senerio..

Try this line next time ... I can do your job can you do mine? there is no way they can!!! otherwise they would be!!! so sick of these dispatchers bullying drivers into doing illegal things!!! 14 hours into my shift he wants to send me on a three hour route... no way... I do not work there anymore... then they want to know why did I resign... get a clue!!!
Go at these guys hard... they will get in trouble when you put up resistance....rodeo trucker Thanks this. -
Maybe it's my dyslexia but am I the only only one who couldn't understand what the OP was saying? Something about empty trailers being entered as loaded is all I understood.

It's all about trailer moves in a tracking system. There are several possibilities as to why the DM wanted things done in a specific way. Should have done a better job explaining it to the driver for it to make sense, or just not had them do it at all and just stayed late and manually moved all the trailer in the system to the correct location.
As for drivers doing a dispatchers job, I bet most wouldn't like doing it. Just like dispatchers wouldn't like driving. People do what they do because it fits a specific need in their life. For me spending time with family is more important than earning more money. Others are the sole providers for their family and do what they must to keep food on the table. So I would suggest instead of getting into a pissing match with your DM just try to smooth things over. -
the best thing he did was got it all on qualcom, atleast he can tell his company to read that convo and they will see who is right or wrong.
Meltom Thanks this.
