    They COMPLETELY screwed me!

I spent 5 days at orientation. Passed a hair follicule test, urine test, DOT physical, smith system road test, all references checked out... I have a 100 percent clean driving record, and disclosed absolutely everything on my application...

in the last 15 minutes of the very last day, my recruiter comes in and says, 'i have trainers for all you guys. do you prefer smoking or non smoking?'

i said, 'non smoking' and the other 2 gentlemen in the squire program said 'non smoking' but seemed kind of indifferent. recruiter comes back a few minutes later, saying 'okay guys your trainer smokes but he never smokes in the truck, he always steps out to smoke and doesn't light up in the truck' yeah, because we all know that special kind of smoker/driver who steps outside for ALL cigarette breaks. Lies!!

recruiter comes over to me with a form to get my 10 year tax information and says, 'we just want to make sure you have nothing to hide.' he asks for 10 years of taxes. i call the IRS, get 21 pages of tax info to prove everything, and come in the next morning. I try to hand it to their stupid dyke supervisor who then informs me, 'why don't you keep this, we're going to pass on your application.'

So I ask for a reason, and they give no reason... but the supervisor kind of seemed like a deer in the headlights when I started pressing for answers. They were really, really prompt in getting me a greyhound ticket and getting me the hell out of their office as quickly as possible.

WHAT? Who doesn't get the job when they're perfectly qualified? Knight Transportation are a shady shady bunch , and I am totally convinced this had something to do with 'smoking or non smoking' trainer.

Reading thru the posts, there's alot of aggression. Not to mention calling the supervisor a dyke says you probably have diarrhea Of the mouth.

as far as i knew all the staff were cool with me...didnt piss anyone off at all. i was excited about what seemed like a good company. but you know everyone gossiped and backstabbed everybody else behind eachothers backs... everybody was all up in eachothers business to an uncomfortable degree. more drama than an old womans sewing circle and it felt like a bad reality show where you get voted off the island !

Sounds like something didn't check out. No telling what it was, but something.

I had a company pass on me for a pretty stupid reason in my opinion. I disclosed I had had an accident in the preceding three years. Minor fender bender at a red light, low speed, hydroplaned into a car in front of me. Did not knock that car into the next, no airbags deployed, $800 damage to the other car, but, my radiator was knocked a bit and a hose came off and all the coolant was on the ground, so of course I had it towed home.

The company had accepted my application, scheduled for orientation even had a confirmation number for agreydog ticket. The safety dept asked for an accident report, so I had the State Police fax them a copy. The following day I was told not to bother coming because their policy was if a car was towed from an accident, the applicant was not hireable. They said if both cars are drivable they are ok with it.

I just moved on to a different company...

They were concerned with 2 years of being unemployed from 2008-2010. Pretty stupid in my opinion. It's okay, after seeing how they treated some of their drivers I'm glad I didn't get the job actually... they'd have screwed me even more if I were employed, most likely.
