actually May has a terminal here, as do FFE, Jim Palmer, Grand Island Express. You could look at Voyager Transportation, have heard mixed reports on them. From what I recall, they are OTR and you'd typically be out 1 week to 10 days.

Aha! May was saying that I could perhaps "visit" the house while waiting for loads about six years ago - so it sounds like they've expanded. I've heard that CAST is a good place, but they don't accept new drivers. There's a flatbed outfit down in the Springs... Fitzgerald, I think?

I am considering Schneider... They have several regional openings that accept rookies and pay pretty well . There is a Family Dollar route , Dedicated Driver of Auto Parts Ford automaker between Memphis & Denver , & another auto parts dedicated regional driver position. They all pay around 50k to start. Does anyone know what these routes are like ?

Schneider/GM cross dock operation is what your talking about, from what I see it's a lot of night work. NAPA might be hiring for route drivers, generally one to two nights out, typically as a team. Yeah, CAST and APEX are good companies, they don't take rookies though.

By the way, I went to the Walgreen's at Academy and North Carefree since I needed smokes and the woman wanted ice cream, and I happened to see a McLane truck unloading at the 7-11 across the street. So I talked to them, and they told me they're out of Longmont on 119, and that they're always looking for drivers (I will admit it raises a red flag for me). Home every weekend, and a couple nights during the week. Might be worth looking into.

I talked to Mclane in Longmgont , but they require 120,000 Hours of driving experience ... First time I heard of an hours prerequisite . The Schneider recruiter said the Family Dollar position is primarily a daytime operation job. Delivering within a 350 mile radius of Denver , off weekends...
