Stevens hauls a lot of meat and that's always a driver unload run. Lumper fees are the name of the game unless you want a work out. I remember a place called Empire Beef in Rochester, NY where if you unloaded it yourself they'd throw in one of their guys to help you out, otherwise it was $90. One of the few times I'd unload the trailer and pocket the money. Back then (11 years ago) they required a PO for unloading fees over $80, that and below they'd reimburse you no questions asked but I can count on one hand how many times I paid under $80 for a lumper!
If they still haul a lot of Hershey and MM Mars, a lot of those were drop and hook.Texas2Colorado Thanks this. -
I can count the number of times I've had to offload in the last 3+ years on one hand.
Just doesn't happen. Stevens pays the lumper fees.
Most of the time, I take a nap while someone else does the work.Texas2Colorado Thanks this. -
