I was surprised too at how quiet, smooth etc this one is too. Also, according to the FMCSA guy that was on the Dave Nemo show a few weeks ago, there are stricter standards regarding more effective braking in these newer trucks. That was news to me, they sighted aero dynamics, and tires that have less rolling resistance. Ie, apparently, since trucks roll easier, they're harder to stop.

Yea I would have to agree... even though I cant compare it to a previos year kw its obvious.. mic im one number truck under you.. ill gladly stay put in this till trade in time.. I do wanna try a volvo out next truck I get though lol
-
I've run 3 different Peterbilts that all had the eaton autoshift 10 speed and they were just fine in the winter weather. The only problem is they are alot harder to rock when you get stuck. I've never driven the volvo I shift so it could be different.

That moment when you realize your appointment was earlier than you thought it was......
Thats what I did this morning...my appointment was at 7 but I wrote it down and had it stuck in my head it was at 9 -
That's better than having an appt. for sunday and thinking it was monday. Never realized the mistake till I was empty and called dispatch. Receiver never said a word.

Sitting here at the trexler plaza, got loaded in Bethlehem going to Jessup, have to use the split sleeper since my 14 ran out a few minutes after I parked, getting there in the morning and heading for my a service. Enjoyed a decent weekend, got to put in another 160+ mile ride on the spider, this thing is great! I'm definitely hoping no more snow or snow storms until December at least lol.

On a load to Hickory NC...thing is looks like Ill make it there tomorrow and its not supposed to deliver til friday...ugggg...Hoping against hope that they will take it early so I can make it home for the weekend....otherwise I am not getting home til sunday or monday.....hmmm I wonder if I can catch a ball game somewhere...
-
I had that one last week, seems like it delivered Wed. Anyhow, I got to do the two pick ups, one in Salisbury, the other in Raeford going up to Front Royal. Well shoot, now I'm unloading at Kroger in Salem, and they give me that NC thing again! Now I probly won't be home till (if I'm lucky) Sunday, maybe Monday! So much for quality time with the wife. (Yes I'm whining) I know they're not giving it to you because they don't know if you'll be empty in time. Oh well, at least I know where the places are, and maybe can make better time.

Be warned im a little pissed....
So I take a load to north carolina..no biggie figured I would get home early enough to get the kids for my visitation time....it was all going smoothly and even was unloaded early and corey told me where my next load was picking up and everything...well that was until I got VOLUNTOLD tomrepower a load in salisbury going to jesup and then back to richmond to offload rejected product....well I protested vehemently cause I only had 33 hours left on a 70 with no recap til sunday...well basically got told tuff #### your doing it....now I am sitting in jesup with 19 hours and STILL have to go to richmond sometime tomorrow...and then figure out how to get home....so now I missed out on my time with the kids and ill be stuck somewhere out of hours.....yeah not cool.... so when I do get home ill be taking some extended time off to cool down otherwise I am going to end up telling them where they can park this ####### truck....this cost me money and something of more value...TIME with my kids...corey, josh, jay, and mike can kiss my ### if they think I am coming out of the house before next weekend.....I am so pissed at all of them....I wanna put my size 13 boot in their size 1 ###... -
Man I feel for you. Time with our loved ones is precious, especially since we're gone so much. When it comes right down to it, all trucking is the same, they just want heir freight hauled, they don't give a #### about a driver. Oh, they schmooze ya once in a while, But in the end, we're the ONLY ones bringing money into the company. They want us rolling.
