this isnt a thread about gun control....ok so lets not get political here..LOL
i dont believe in them, BUT dont have anything against them either...ANYTHING (well, within reason) can be used as a weapon, in THE WRONG HANDS.....
i just dont get these folks that DONT take precautions....my husband was raised around guns...him and his 2 brothers had their own hunting rifles..and were taught how to use them etc...
thats like the story of the trooper in TN recently who was "showing " his gun to family..and a 4 or 6 yr old (cant remember) came in and SHOT and killed his wife....PEOPLE, YOU ARE THE ADULTS...if you are gonna have a gun(s) , its time you start ACTING like adults and keep them PUT away safely.... -
Many .22's are very small-ish and can easily be carried around by a curious 4 year old. Question is why would any gun in a home with young kids be accessible by said kids? I'm not inclined to believe the story as the adults have told it to police. And that's all I'm going to say. But failure to properly store weapons and being a negligent parent is about as stupid as playing around with a gun and accidentally killing a kid and trying to blame it on another kid to avoid a potential manslaughter charge. I realize I don't know anything about the truth of the story but something doesn't sound right.

i agree with you...in both cases involving the shooting that i mentioned....i feel something isnt right.....but was waiting to see what anyone else thought....

having a loaded gun on a bed while showing to others and having a toddler walk up and grab the trigger ... I can see that happening. Kids can quietly show up out of nowhere and the easiest thing on a gun lying on a bed for a small kid to grab is the trigger [guard]. But again, all the talk about coming gun control has generated a lot of interest and more people acquiring guns. Problem is, a lot of morons who shouldn't be parents, let alone gun owners, are getting guns in the process. But this is turning political and I apologize if it get's moved.

I have guns here in the house. My kids were raised with them, and handled them. (UNloaded, of course!) Even with them around, I don't understand how this happened. I just don't. Like the rest of you, I feel there is something missing...

I have multiple guns in my home anywhere from .40 cal pistols and an AR 15 .556 cal and I have 2 children and I make dam sure that all my guns are locked up in my gun safes my kids do shoot guns but under very close supervision and safety I am all for guns as long as the person owning these guns know the safety involved of owning a gun weather its a .22 cal,9mm,.40 cal etc. any caliber can seriously injure or kill someone gun safety is a big deal
