I've been having an issue the last two days getting bobtail and physical damage quotes:

Here's the setup; NY resident--- AZ Carrier. Truck will be registered and plated under carrier name.

Ins Co's won't quote it because it's not registered(though it is titled-I hold clear title) in my name.

Anyone else have simimlar problems out of NY or elsewhere?

    Call 1st guard Insurance...1 800 995 4827 or http://www.1stguard.com/Contact.aspx

They helped me out and got me insurance with a "Intent to lease" paper from the company, they also have worked with *most* companies and getting set up took all of 10 minutes

Shouldn't make a difference, I'm in NY, I own the truck, insurance in my name, and the truck is registered in someone else's name.

would you mind recommending your agent?

Everyone I've been talking to outside of the insurance agents say the same thing. But the agents are saying the opposite. no can do. perplexing.

If the truck is not in your name, you may need to get a letter from the registered owner in order to lease on or get insurance. Check with McGriff. They have several offices around the country. I think their main office is in Birmingham, AL. They will shop your insurance to find the best rates. You can also check with American Insurance Brokers. They are out of Louisiana. Not all insurance companies write in all states, as you have already found. Some agents advertise in the trucking magazines or on some of the trucking forums. If the registered owner is in another state, you might also check to see if the insurance companies will cover the truck in their state.
