Thanks for the recommendations Challenger. I have a call into Roehl and spoke with someone from System Transport. Will fill out an application for them and get it in after talking more tomorrow. Looks like Watkins Sheppard is not hiring in my area. Thanks again.

Consider Werner and Swift and Roehl flatbed divisions.

not to Hi-jack but; tucson craigslist has a posting from "Central Oregon Truck Company". Any Knowledge? I'm in same situation as the OP, but south east of him, Cochise County AZ.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
That company has a good website to check. It says experience required, but those rules aren't carved in stone.

You given any thought to Melton?

Hey there Noggin. Yeah, I spoke with three different recruiters at Melton and they told me their hiring area is 100 miles from phoenix, and that my address was not within. They did make an exception for me, so I'm looking into them. If one was in the Northern part of Tucson -e.g. Oro Valley- they would make the hiring zone.
Melton does look really good, but I'm a bit concerned about getting enough miles. I've been keeping up with one of the Melton drivers thread and he seems very happy with everything but the miles. -
thats ridiculous....this is our hiring area? I'll call tomorrow and see if something has changed recently...
SHC Thanks this. -
I applied with Melton; the recruiter who called me said " HQed in Oklahoma, operate primarily east of I-35". I have family support issues(mom/stroke), and need to be somewhat availible.
