Well, this new info on the Cline Shale has just made me even more determined than ever to get down there and get in the middle of it. Big Lake doesn't look very far from Midland/Odessa. 77 miles says map quest.
How about some 2013 "updated" info on texas oilfield jobs/outlook?

Does anyone have any first hand info on what companies are good for O/O and are hiring in the tx or ok area? I got a long list of companies, just haven't started getting all the info together and calling them yet.

Just delivered some sand to a water drilling job outside Big Lake and chatted with the geologist on the job.
Apparently the Texas University system owns vast amounts of land out there and leases it for grazing, mineral rights, water rights, etc. and profits off of the proceeds. (every illegal immigrante needs a free college edumacashkin.)
Supposed to be lots of water underneath all that sand, rock, cactus and scrub.
Lots of trucking jobs out here and a lot of them run late model Petes!
If I was hard up for a job I'd become a Texan too! But for now, I'd miss Tennessee too much.Chibob and superpet39 Thank this. -
You would have to be real hard up to want to move from here to there.Semi Crazy Thanks this.

what's so bad about texas (just asking, I've never been)
-
There are a lot of huge tracts like the one you were on all over TX. People donate it in their wills. University of TX gets about 50%. A&M about 30%. The rest is split up between Texas Tech and all the other state schools. LOL One of the main reasons they all hate TX and TX A&M. Did one over in Rankin. Huge one up around Andrews. Probably in excess of 5000 wells. Mostly old. Being single stage fracked to bring production back up. Same thing going on in E TX Spindletop area. New life for old wells. Just let the natural gas push up the oil.

I can give an answer because I've been to both places. Texas is mostly scrub brush, Mesquite trees, and prickly pear cactus. Tennessee is green grass everywhere.
-
Why? TN is nice state. Nothing there that TX hasn't got lot more of. Forests , foothills, deserts, Mountains. We do have coastline which you don't. TN bluegrass scene is better. Pretty petty statement for you to make. Must not be TN native. All of them I've met were good decent folk.lonewolf4ad Thanks this.
