Considering this state has 19 MILLION people in it we produce very little. No energy industry, next to no manufacturing, very little skilled labor. Lots of sheet rock hangers and burger flippers. Just my opinion though. I'm no cheerleader for this state.

while we produce very little, lo ts of stuff comes Into the ports, add in several military bases and nasa, plus what?3 international airlines with major maintenance centers set up here. florida power and light. basically what I'm saying is there is plenty of good paying freight, it's just not the typical type of freight. now all that being said,a guy just starting out operating under his own authority isn't going to get consideration for a lot of the good freight. leasing to a good carrier is something that has to be considered. maybe even more so in this market

Florida has been God's waiting room since I can remember, more of a consumer state.

I see alot of trucks on the 95 in Miami and Fort Lauderdale where I live. I see alot of vans but a good amount of flatbeds too. Major companies like Prime, Swift, Heartland, Werner and JB Hunt. I'm sure someone will hire me.

I'm pretty sure you can set your sights higher than those bottom feeder companies
