I just saw a guy putting stickers on a pro star. I guess he is leasing it to them. I didn't know they took other trucks.
Last two weeks have had us go from great miles to solo ones. Life has been strange at Transam since they fired our old DM Joe. Now we just have people covering our fleet instead of helping us out.
Have others had trouble getting through on the phones often? -
I can barely get anyone on the phone lately since theyve been redoing the phone system except for road assist. They are the only ones I can get in quick contact with by phone.

Panhandle thanks for the reply. yes most of my exp is verifiable and recent except being laid off for 3 months back in Nov of 2010 by FFE. They called me back to work but I said no thanks. I was a bit upset because in 27 years of trucking that was the 1st time I have ever been laid off. The company I work for now is mostly local but we do run the southeast and north up the coast far as Virginia. The pay is low and the company is small just 3 trucks so Im looking to get back into a little more stability with a major operation. The lease, Have done lease programs before and know they are slippery slopes with the wrong company or poor financial management by a driver. I did make two lease programs work well for me tho, TRL back in 1996 was paying by bills, taxes and putting 1,200 every week then Prime came in and bought the company and it all fell apart. Was doing the same with American Transport in 2000 til they folded. In 2007 I tried a lease with CRST and it was horrible I almost lost my shirt paying for a truck with no freight. So I have no issues with a lease because I can get it to work but it most be with a company thats not trying to get me to pay for a truck then take it back near lease end (Fleece) or other wise just plain burn me with a bad lease program. there are good programs out there 1 in every 100, Dart is good and JCT is fair but I live in Florida and they are not hiring from my area at the moment. Im hoping Trans-Am is a fair company to lease on with. on the Company side the pay seems a little low in my view. It would be great to hear what current Trans-Am drivers think about joining the company or just some thoughts and advice.....

Thanks also to russellkanning for the reply...

honeybadger your from Florida currect? I would love to hear your thoughts on the lease program, home time, available miles, pay, the companies take on drivers and any thoughts or advice on working for transam...

I think you should run the company side and then switch over to the lease once you see how they operate, because waiting on those meat loads can really kill your time. Some meat house are better than others, just like going to certain areas have better freight coming back. I was a company guy who was getting more miles than lease guys.
