then the issue isn't the truck per se.
It's your own personal fears.
No issue there either. Totally and completely acceptable and NORMAL.
If you didn't have those fears, I'd be more concerned. Especially on your first truck. About as major a step as buying a house IMO.
I'd get them to convert it to a 13spd, get the comment of helping with an engine in writing along with all the other stuff and welcome to the O/O club.
Buying a XL tranny swap?

well I have leased a truck before with I was only 1yr in the bizz did good till the company I was with said no we going to sit you 3-4days at a time and not give weekend loads but hey that was my stupid leasing with crst. Made it 6mths one week id make a profit of 2,800 next week 1,200 in the hole and they would hold my pay back and all this crap just a bad place I have 6 years now a lil smarter still a rookie all ways will be but im so rdy to make this move just not trying to rush it and this time the company has no control over the truck only way they make $ off me is to run the truck and my buddy is over their at the moment and hes after taxes he takes out and all the other goodies taking home about 1400-1600 and home every weekend and that's the slow weeks I only go by the worst not the best so I don't get my hopes up to high and this is one big running sentence sorry about that

and yes tranny change is a must for me besides I love 13s and it will help me keep a lower rpm and its not much of a gear change I come on who uses a clutch lol
-
i agree with the the other poster, agree on a price with the dealer and THEN tell them you want them to convert it to a 13 before you will buy it.

ya I plan on it but if its just a simple deal worst case I can do it at my buddies shop I got of of auto/disl tech in 05 started driving shortly after don't know why I didn't get a job like that but I wont ever change what I do I like the time to myself. only thing for me is I am going to have to get used to the way the thing backs/turns I learned how to drive in a fld so im sure its worse then that thing but it will just take time just if you see me at the truck stops lol don't laugh at me to hard haha

Most of the 9 speeds can be concerted easy but you have to change shifter and add a valve or two and some air lines you don't need to do anything with the driveshaft or back box it's the exact same tranny check online if the particular trans number can be converted I would say 85 % can
-
ya from what I was told by warner it can be they changed over found that out at least
-
just got off the phone with the guy kinda funny he said when the cruz is set it auto shifts into the upper gears was like wtf he said its odd but its the way its set up
-
sounds like a 9 Auto Top 2.
It's a nine speed more or less, but the OD unit is also installed.
When you are in 7 or 8th holes, the transmission splits the hole for Direct and Overdrive.
