I bought my truck because it had my name all over it.
Literally it did.
I was browsing through www.truckpaper.com and had the search parameters in. I clicked on a Century I liked the looks of. When I went and read the salespersons name, I turned the computer to my wife and showed her. Told her, "See, It's already my truck with my name on it."
The salesperson had my same name.
When I went and emailed the company that sold me the truck, they were confused WHY the Site manager was emailing corporate for sales information on a truck at HIS Store.
I would call and give them my name, I ALWAYS got answered in less than 30 seconds.
After about 3 days of calling and such, I finally called the actually "sales person" listed on my truck posting. He and I had a good time chatting and figuring things out. He wasn't a salesperson either. He's the actual site manager for one of the Pacific Power locations in Oregon. That explained WHY my phone calls were never on hold long.
The moral of the story.....
You'll know it when it's time to buy the truck.buddyvuk Thanks this. -
something to keep in mind, as of the end of the year those commies in cali won't let an old truck in the state. you need to research the carb regs. moreso than us on the east coast. says you are from Portland, or. gonna be pretty hard for you to avoid going into california. don't quote me on this but pretty sure anything older than 07 will have to be retrofitted with a dpf by Jan 1st. and then replaced with a 2010 engine by 2019
good luck to you and don't let the negative type scare you off, there is excellent money to be made as an owner operator, and it sure as Hell doesn't take 100 hour work weeks to do it. and there have been quite a few that got "rich", but it wasn't pullin a dry box! that's one thing you need to seriously reconsider. -
