Ive had tickets in the past myself. Now im a safe driver fanatic. When you go to court tell the judge your situation. Ask is there anything you can do to get these thrown out. For example.. when i was a teenager i did community service on weekends to get 2 speeding tickets thrown out and off my record permanately. I did have to wash every police car and fire truck in my hometown while on my community service detail but worth it.

Thank you. We do have a job doing what people hate. So when I am at an interview, I make myself look good, and paint a picture of detail into what efforts ive made to get where I am today. Of course I dont lie or sound redundant.Ghost Ryder Thanks this.

We do what we have to do to get started. $600.00 a week + benefits is pretty good money if you've been unemployed and have a family to support; it's better than being a welfare leech & the $600.00 per week is temporary. I have much respect for drivers that can tough it out. Not everyone can start out on top.Big_jon and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this.

I did it. Hated the traffic, tight schedule trying to get enough rest between shifts. Some people love local and many OTR look for it, but I hated it. I went OTR after local for a short time & never regretted it. I've also found many OTR drivers that talk about wanting local jobs, don't really look too hard for those jobs.Big_jon Thanks this.

I want to go from local to regional. Don't want to be gone 2 or 3 months at a time but the money is just not there for local runs when you're paid mileage. If I was paid $15/hr however, I would be making a killing.
Big_jon Thanks this. -
Im making 69c per loaded mile and on a good day run 200 miles loaded. No taxes. About 800 per week.

For your case rain and other inclements in weather wont shut you down. Since im hauling mainky fertilize such as "chicken aftershock" rainy days are a no go. Loading and unloading is labor intensive on a live bottom trailer especially when the wind catches the load and your covered in litter. Great stuff when i forget to roll the windows up on the truck befotr getting started.
Something i didnt get from my new boss who just so happens to act and sound exactly like larry the cable guy... i let my dog ride with me friday and the boss got pissed.. bad pissed.. i apologized sort of but didnt get why he cared.. when i first got my truck the last guy had wrecked it with trash.. took me four hours to clean it up. On top of that my dog is clean natured.. whatever larry your the boss i thought.
