Oh by the HWY, can't find the results on the dyno, been a while , but I would have the trucks put on the dyno in Amarillo TX. (Cummings dealer)

Most of it was fuel pressure being turned up. Not so much HP. Would cause us to go from 4 mpg to 2 mpg.

What Im saying is...its a 400 cat. Back then we did not have the same tech as we do today. So, we turned up the fuel to go faster down the road. U prob had work done to it with the tech today, but its still a 400 cat. The 500 was a 3406E in the 90's along with the 600. Just saying. Be safe out there drivers.

Hey hwy I didn't say it was or was not a 400. I was just saying what hp I had. We did not add rounds of fuel to go faster. Sounds to me like you needed a tuner. We had pump work and timing. Pretty easy to get 125 added hp. Truck would smoke a little between shifts but not rollin coal. Pyro would run between 900 and 950. Transmission and rear temp I had to watch. MPG was 4 to 4.5 and that was with the hammer down. The V-8 would get between 3.5 and 4 MPG. Just saying. Have a great day.

Actually getting a 3406A to 500hp is quite a feat. It's not easy even in this day and age.

Also, there was a 3408 truck engine that was rated at 503hp from the factory.
