My husband had been out from behind the wheel long enough that he needed to take a refresher course to get hired on with a company. I can't recall the exact cost, but it was something crazy like $2600 or $2700. Is this something he can take as a deduction?

    Thanks!

Yep, almost anything job-related can be taken as a deduction, especially training that you pay for out of pocket.

Education is not normally a tax problem.

Tbrown absolutely, not only can you deduct the entire cost, but the cost of driving there and back, meals, and lodging if used. When in doubt however, always ask a tax proffessional.
