I can't speak for the Wheatridge branch but the USTDS in Fountain, CO was great. The instructors were all very knowledgeable, I was in a small class so there was only 2 students to a truck 3 is their max. The equipment was beat to death but I would expect that with any school considering that most students going there having never touched a truck in their lives. The mountain driving was only intended to be a familiarization and I don't care what school you go to 3 or 4 weeks is not going to make you an expert. The only problem I saw with the school was that there were not enough recruiters showing up. The Swift recruiter no showed twice, Werner was in there constantly, so your options were limited if you didn't do some research on your own, but anyone looking for a good company should do that anyway.

So, while some in here are telling us how good USTDS is, in the last two days, Colorado State Patrol ordered OOS two of USTDS tractors and one trailer during random traffic stops. One combination was put OOS along the I-76 in Commerce City for multiple violations, the other one was put OOS today for driving with bald tires and an expired license plate.

The USTDS in Fountain, Colorado is poor at best. If you are fortunate to get the right instructors you MAY be fine. It was a horrible experience. I don't recommend them. When you present your problem to the management, they will tell you why the instructors are bad and how you should be understanding. How much am I paying for this school? The instructors are inconsistent with their instructions so you have to know how to answer the questions based on who the instructor is. You are told not to argue with the instructors, but what they really mean is don't ask questions. After I was told. "What does the book say?" several times, I quit asking. Gee, if all I had to do was read the book, why do I need an instructor? The horror stories abound and the owners don't want to hear them. The equipment is horrible. If you are going to learn to drive, you will be driving a truck that would never pass an inspection. Some of the instructors are good. Some are horrible. Unfortunately, you don't get to choose.

Two people gave honest opinions of their positive personal experience with attending USTDS, Others have told about their negative experiences. You did not attend and this school and have a reason to be angry with them that has nothing to do with their ability to prepare you to take the CDL exam. Keep grinding that axe, it seems kind of silly and small..
