Ok guys, let me say this first. I AM NOT A SPEED DEMON! I like to run 75 but rarely above that (trust me I'll wind it out in the desert at night but won't do it long) but anyways I'm interested in this truck but my main concern is the rear end ratio. Here's the link and hopefully you can give me a idea of the top speed and if this would be a good every day OTR truck.

Would this be a good OTR truck?

I would be more concerned with the miles on the engine. It does not say anything about being rebuilt and it is at 812,000 miles. If it hasn't been rebuilt you can add another 20k to the price. Not sure how big a deal the 10 speed is to you .. but it usually doesn't fetch a higher price the way a 13 or 18 does. Also the rear end at 3.70 has got to mean that 10 speed is an overdrive. http://www.roadranger.com/ecm/groups/public/@pub/@eaton/@roadranger/documents/content/ct_062746.swf That link takes you to the speed calculator.

Indeed. Knock about $30 grand off the price and you could work with it. -
if you turn the torque up to 1850 it should be pretty close to the first one to the top of the hill but it will also be the first one to the fuel pump, the 3.70's are going to kill the mpgs

Ten speed and those gears will puts your revs real high at 75 mph. My old truck had a 10 speed and 3.73s, good for the hills though. Mpgs will be good if you drive 55-65 since rpms will be below 1500

Wow, $57K for a 10 year old truck? With close to a million miles on it? About $20K too much money.
cetanediesel Thanks this.
