so what did you do before driving a truck?

I agree with hd.always move forward to better yourself. I home schooled my son for 12 years. I wanted to drive years ago but i needed to finish his schooling first. I am now getting a chance to drive. I have been blessed with good health and good friends. Life is good right now. But i must confess i am not employed right now. I quit 55000 yr job to get my cdl. 3 interviews tomorrow. I am hopeing one of them works out.

I've been an O/O so long that I've completely lost touch with what "real jobs" are like. So would you mind telling me what kind of effort was expected from you or that you put in for $55K / year? Thanks.

 

I maintainted 150 cabins for a rental company.the stress was so high from guest and owners for just one man could handle. I never had time to fish .ride my motorcycle or help my son. I lost my home to a fire last year and lost 34 yrs if marriage with it. I had to work 305 days with no day off and try to start over.
The owner was a a::hole to work for.it was time for a change. I gave 4 month notice.saved all i could. Got my cdl. Starting fresh at 53.

 

I'm jumping at 50 years old, from being a machinist.
