I guess it would be 3 weeks. I just finished orientation yesterday which was 3 days into the new pay period. I'll work this week then next week and get paid the following Friday.

Well we dropped the load that was going to Brownsville, Tn at the yard in Olive Branch, Ms.. No sooner do we send in our empty call my phone rings at its dispatch wanting us to go rescue a Boars Head load from a driver who doesn't have the hours to get to Brooklyn by 0200. So we're headed to Lebanon, Tn. to meet him and swap trailers. The load will be late by the time we hook to it there is know way we can get it there on time. I hate being late on a load even when it comes down to a lack of planning on dispatch and no fault of my own.
On a side note does no one else take a few minutes after dropping an empty at a drop yard or terminal to sweep it out? The last 5 empties I have hooked to have been dirty. Invest in a broom and show a little common courtesy. It takes about 5 minutes to sweep at a dry van and 10 minutes tops to sweep out a reefer. Be safe!tractorman1970 and The Challenger Thank this. -
i will bring my 18 volt leaf blower with me runningman
it wont be me
runningman0661 Thanks this. -
Those leaf blowers work like a charm, especially on a reefer.

That they do. I had only seen one person do that until coming here. A guy brought his out at a new wal-mart we delivered cases to.

3rd time is the lucky truck! 2nd one started shaking so badly I thought my teeth were going to rattle right out of my head. Brought it back to the shop since they dh me to chester anyway. They said its the injectors and it went bye bye to volvo. Back in another 2013. If this screws up, I'm going home. The whole run you out and right back in thing does not appeal to me. If I am 50 miles away from home and can't go see my husband, that kinda ticks me off. I signed on as an OTR driver. Not northeast. Not run back to richmond every 2 days. I have had to pay for my showers because I don't get fuel anywhere but the yard. Except for yesterday and I sure used that one last night after sitting on a screwed up conn load.
On anothr note, all thebreakdown hotel money I was given (and used for hotel) was going to be taken out of my check this week. Beth alerted me to check with dennis and we go that straight, along with money he put on my card that I didn't get last pay period. Confused? Let's just say its about $275 worth. No one told me about giving them receipts and he just plain old forgot that he put the money on my card a week later than it was supposed to be.
All this has really stressed me out. Still trying not to let it get to me and keep a positive attitude, but it is becoming difficult. Ok, rant over. Be safe everyone. -
3rd truck really? I'm very surprised u havent gotten a load heading out to the midwest yet, those are pretty easy to come by Wisconsin or Illinois, Michigan those are pretty much always on the yard. If u trying to go south then don't hold your breath on those loads not many south loads cause everyone asks for them. When u go to the dispatch window just ask if they have anything heading out west if thats the direction u trying to go.

I will ask for west then! I finally found out my FM is Kimberly. She seems to be on her game. She has helped me out tremendously. She is probably sick of all my questions!
