Please please please stay away from schneider Truckin jobs. This is the worst company to drive for ever, especially if you are just starting out. I drove for them only two months and was convinced to quit. I drove for the dry van division which starts at .26 cents a mile. From my understanding the tanker position advertises 40 cents a mile but that is only for experienced drivers if I read correct on another post. They treat driver so on unfair. Don't believe me here is a list of complaints I wish I read before wasting my time with these trucking baffoons. http://www.ripoffreport.com/directory/schneider-national.aspx but anyway I read the inside scoop on this company and it seemed like a company to start for. Oh boy was I wrong . Get this. I had just finished up a load to walmart at about 10:30 at night. There was no available trailers or as Sni calls it TA, so I put in an exception that there is no empty trailers at the walmart Oc. So I wait 25-30 min and still no reroute to an empty trailer. So I call dispatch to figure out what the hell is going on. The lady tell me that I have to wait 30 min for exceptions. I tell The lady it's been 30 min and I still have not received a route to a new trailer. Know by this time they have already given me a load about 200
miles away and I had almost 4hrs to drive and it delivers tomorrow. Here is the kicker. U finally get my route to an empty trailer 80 miles, but the place is closed tomorrow (Saturday) and my load is due tomorrow. So finally I called it quits for the day and went to small truck stop less than a mile down the road and go to sleep for the night. The next day I called my dbl or driver business leader and tell him the situation. He then tells me to see If I can go get the trailer. So I bob tail 80 mi to a frito lay. I get there and the gate is closed. About 15 min later one if there box truck driver comes thru, u know like the ups package car, and he open the electronic gate. So I pulled in to the "yard" and WOW the place was not even built for tractor trailers. All that's there is package car after package car of frito lay trucks. I then called my manager back and explained the situation, he then says ok boss I will route you to another trailer it will only be a 20 min wait. An hr goes by and still no reroute. Know I'm fed up with the bs and frustrated cause know my check will only be about 200.00 buck the week ahead. I figure I can do better on minimum wage. So I call dispatch and tell them I'm quitting. Dispatch takes the load off me and I drive the truck back to my home operating center. So then pay day comes and my check was about 730.99 before taxes,(by the grace if god in a truck governed at 60 mph at 0.26 cents a mile) but I only receive 8.00 bucks. So I start to flip out. 8.00 bucks there is something wrong. I call my dbl an he says that since I was not dispatched to the Oc that the miles were unauthorized and I was charged 1.50 cents per mile which took my whole check. I told my trainer about this and he is like " 1.50 they don't even pay their drivers that much" so I sat at home depressed due to I cannot pay my cell phone bill. But knw I'm off to melton. If you want tanker and your just starting out I would look onto CTL transportation they have a tanker program that will train but I don't know what is like on their side of the road. Recruiter told me 900.00-1200.00 a week. It sounded like what sh**ty national told me on .28 cents a mile so I just hung up. But please do yourself and a favor and stay away from these crooks.

I heard they were shutting down their tanker division. Something about drivers drowning while trying to put on their load locks.:biggrin_25524:

The OP didn't know how to work the system. Ignorance is bliss. NEVER up and quit a job. Always get routed to an OC for a relay and clear your NAT so you can do it the right way. What a costly mistake. I've been at Schneider almost 10 months. Yes there are bad days, but you learn to roll with the punches. I didn't know that they started van at $0.26/mile. I'm currently at $0.35/mile in van.
